Trust His Timing: Exercise Courageous Faith Change Is Coming for Our Nations

We are living in a season where fear, confusion, and sudden shifts in the political and cultural landscape tempt us to panic. But the message I carry is simple and urgent: faith is not optional. Faith is the substance of everything we hope for. Faith is trust. And God is asking us to trust his timing.

Why faith matters now

Whenever storms gather—whether economic traps, legislation that tears at our freedoms, or leaders whose hearts seem hardened—the temptation is to lean on our own understanding. Yet scripture and experience both remind us that God often moves in ways that look like a trap to the oppressor and a rescue for the faithful.

Faith is the substance of everything that you hope for, because you can do nothing to please me outside of faith.

That is not a call to passivity. It is a call to posture: to be both active in obedience and steady in trust. God asks us to stop giving our hearts to anxiety and to begin anchoring them in trust. When we operate from that posture, our declarations, our intercession, and our everyday obedience become the natural actions of people who know their God.

Two things are being revealed: kingdoms and timing

The narrative that runs through history and through scripture is a battle between two kingdoms: the kingdom of man and the kingdom of God. One is built on fear, self-preservation, and selfish gain. The other is built on righteousness, justice, and sacrificial love.

We pray, "Your kingdom come." When we do that faithfully, we band together as a righteous remnant—pillars of light standing in the gap. The Lord is asking us to be those pillars today: resolute, prayerful, expectant.

Prophetic confirmations: a pattern of preparation

Over the last months, prophetic words have been surfacing that consistently say the same thing: God is orchestrating events, and he is asking his people to wait on his timing. These words are not to make us passive, but to keep us aligned. They call us to faithful vigilance—praying, interceding, and preparing for sudden, supernatural movement when God releases it.

Listen to the posture the Lord is shaping in us:

  • Pray with urgency, but do not hurry God.
  • Intercede in the secret places; those prayers are being multiplied.
  • Stand ready to move when God gives instruction—obedience is the response to revelation.

From the Red Sea to our moment today

Think of Israel at the edge of the Red Sea. They waited. God gave Moses specific, often outrageous instructions—and then God performed the miracles. The miracle came in response to obedience. Likewise, we are called to do what a natural people can do in obedience to their supernatural God.

That means worship, decrees, intercession, and spiritual readiness—practical actions taken in faith. It also means community: a consecrated space where we gather, encourage one another, and train our reflexes in the dark hours so we are not found wanting when the lights come on.

Practical steps to live this out

If you feel called to stand in this hour, here are concrete ways to partner with what God is doing:

  1. Root your day in trust: Begin with worship and declarations like "My heart is confident in you, O God."  You either trust Him or you don't.  Half trust isn't trust, it's skepticism.
  2. Intercede daily: Lift your city, leaders, families, and nations in prayer. Small, consistent acts of prayer matter.
  3. Declare what is righteous: Use faith-filled decrees that align with God’s character—justice, mercy, and righteousness.
  4. Form consecrated community: Gather in spaces set apart from noise and confusion so you can be strengthened and equipped. Our New Community for example. community.howardolsen.org
  5. Be ready to obey instantly: When God says move, move. When God says wait, remain faithful in the waiting.

The posture of trust—why it changes everything

Trust is not merely believing God exists. Trust is the conviction that he is working all things for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purposes. It is the courage to stand when the culture calls you foolish, the steadiness to keep praying when the headlines scream calamity, and the humility to let God perfect his timing.

In practical leadership and business, I saw time and again that decisions come down to trust. Clients chose people they trusted. God is asking the same of us: will we trust him with our nation, our homes, and our futures?

A final word of encouragement

Do not despise the days of waiting. Don't let discouragement rob you of the inheritance that comes through perseverance. God is raising rivers of revival in the secret places. He is preparing a people who will move when he releases, and when he does, deliverance will be swift and astonishing.

Be bold. Be courageous. Cultivate faith so it will not be merely lip service when the spotlight finds you. Train your reflexes in the dark hours—through prayer, praise, fasting, and community—so you will be found faithful in the daylight.

We will take communion, we will seal our homes and communities with the blood of the Lamb, and we will stand as one people under God. The call is clear: trust his timing and be ready to move.

Blessings, Howard Olsen
