There are seasons when the call of God sounds like battle, and there are seasons when it sounds like deeper rest. Right now, the invitation is not less serious. It is more serious. The shift is from outward warfare into deeper abiding, and many people miss what that means. They assume that if the intensity of direct confrontation has changed, then something has been lost. It has not. The warfare has moved into a deeper realm.
Worship is warfare. Abiding is warfare. Pressing into the presence of God is warfare. When a believer moves into that hidden place with the Lord, the kingdom of darkness loses access. That is not retreat. That is positioning.
We are in a major season shift. Assignments are changing. Authority is expanding. Access is expanding. God is opening the way into a deeper place with Him, but access alone does not mean much if we never use it. A door can be open and still remain untouched.
A Season of Peace in the Middle of Chaos
There is a tension many people struggle to hold. On one hand, there is a real promise of peace, restoration, increase, and recovery. On the other hand, the world is not moving into calm. It is moving into greater upheaval. Both are true at the same time.
The days ahead will carry more visible disorder, more shaking, and more exposure of systems that have long operated in darkness. Yet for those who belong to Christ, this is also a season of extraordinary peace. Not because external conditions are easy, but because Jesus Himself becomes the place of safety.
Too many people want what God gives more than they want God Himself. They want healing more than the Healer. They want blessing more than the One who blesses. They want answers more than communion. But the Lord is drawing His people past the gifts and back to the Source. That is the heart of the shift.
Why the Emphasis Has Changed
I keep hearing from people (and Holy Spirit keeps telling me "people are saying") "You've lost the plot. Why don't you war anymore?" For years, the focus of this ministry was heavy spiritual warfare as we contended for the nations. There was direct intercession, decrees, and aggressive spiritual engagement. But over time, the emphasis began to change. Worship increased. Rest increased. Intimacy increased. It was not a loss of purpose. It was a change in strategy. I didn't loose the plot, the plot changed!
God sees the legislation, the corruption, the targeting, the manipulation, the censorship, and the pressure rising in nations. He is not blind to any of it. He is not anxious, and He is not scrambling for a solution. Heaven is not panicked.
The point is not that these threats are imaginary. The point is that God is higher. His ways are higher, His thoughts are higher, and He is inviting His people to come up into that higher place with Him. He has already granted access. The question now is whether we will respond to it.
The Great and Terrible Day of the Lord
Scripture speaks of the day of the Lord as both great and terrible. That language matters. It means there will be glorious deliverance and sobering shaking at the same time. Justice released into the earth will not arrive as a soft, tidy event. When wicked systems are judged and hidden structures are dismantled, there will be recoil; we're seeing some it it now, and we ain't seen nothing yet.
That means there may be interruptions to electricity, petrol, ATMS, shortages, confusion, systems failing, and moments that create fear in the natural mind. The same outage your neighbor experiences, you will also experience. The same disruptions in supply or infrastructure may affect everyone in a region.
But the difference for the people of God is not always exemption from the event. The difference is freedom from the chaos of it.
God is saying, in effect, I want you so anchored in Me that when the shaking comes, you remain unshaken. When fear spreads, your peace grows stronger. When panic increases around you, calm increases within you. That witness will speak louder than a sermon.
What It Means to Wait on the Lord
Many people talk about waiting on the Lord as though it means sitting around until God finally answers. That is not the biblical picture. The idea is much richer. It carries the sense of being intertwined, braided together, tightly bound.
I'm a mortorcyclist and I often go off on thousands of miles tirips. Think of fastening luggage securely to a motorcycle for one of these long trips. If it is strapped down properly, it does not shift when the road gets rough, when corners tighten, or when speed increases. That is the image. God wants His people so woven into Him that no sudden jolt knocks them loose.
This kind of attachment does not happen accidentally. It is cultivated. It is formed in prayer, worship, thanksgiving, praise, obedience, fasting, and sustained attention to His voice.
How to Go Deeper Into His Presence
The pattern is simple and profound.
- Enter His gates with thanksgiving.
- Enter His courts with praise.
- Remain there until His presence overtakes you.
Thanksgiving opens the gate. Praise takes you deeper. Then something holy happens. God inhabits praise, and in that atmosphere people begin to come undone, not because they are emotionally unstable, but because the weight of His presence touches them deeply.
This will not look the same on every person. One may weep. Another may grow quiet. Another may sing. Another may sit still in awe. The outward expression is not the point. The point is that God is drawing each person deeper in a way that is real and personal.
There is no upper limit to this. God is infinite. The deeper place is not reserved for a select few with unusual personalities. It is available to every believer willing to press in.
Call Unto Me and I Will Show You Hidden Things
One of the clearest themes in this season is the promise that if you call to God, He will answer and reveal things you could never discover on your own. Not vague impressions. Not spiritual entertainment. Real insight. Real direction. Real hidden things.
But this is not casual. This is not tossing a quick request into the air and moving on. It is a call to seek. To prioritize. To put God first. That is why Matthew 6:33 matters so much right now. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and everything else will be added in proper order.
The word first carries the sense of priority, of giving God the primary place. Not after the
fear. Not after the need. Not after the crisis. FIRST.
If you seek the Source, the supply follows. If you pursue the Healer, healing is not excluded. If you pursue the Provider, provision is not forgotten. But if you chase only outcomes, you miss the deeper life, deeper peace and deeper purpose God is offering.
Why Pressing In Gets Harder
Sometimes people assume that spiritual maturity should make hearing God easier in a simplistic sense. But often the opposite happens. In earlier stages of your walk, the Lord may speak in broad, obvious ways. Later, He trains His people to depend on Him more continuously. There are seasons when God teaches us to hear Him day by day, then hour by hour. Then minute by minute. Then second by second. Then moment by moment. He will meet you where you are, but He want's you to come deeper with Him! That is not Him being distant. That is training.
God is not withholding Himself. He is deepening our dependence. He is forming believers who do not merely receive occasional guidance, but live in ongoing union with Him. In days of great instability, wheich we are approaching, that kind of closeness will matter more than ever.
Build Community Before You Need It
Another part of preparation is community. Real spiritual community cannot be improvised in an emergency. It has to be built beforehand. If people wait until their back is against the wall, they are already late.
If you try to build community at the time you need it, it's already way too late.
God often carries His people through crisis not only by personal revelation, but through an ecclesia, a gathered people who pray, encourage, strengthen, and stand together. That is one reason community matters so much in this hour. Isolation is dangerous. Connection is wisdom.
What the World Will Notice
When the pressure intensifies, many who dismissed faith will begin to notice something different in the people pressed into God. At first, they may not understand it. But as panic rises and your peace remains, the question will eventually shift from “Why are you like that?” to “How can I have what you have?”
That is part of the coming harvest. Not hype. Harvest.
In a darkening world, peace becomes evangelistic. Joy becomes evangelistic. Stability becomes evangelistic. A life hidden in Christ becomes impossible to ignore. You do not need to force this. You need to abide. The light of Christ will do what argument cannot.
Start Now
This is the urgency of the hour. Start now. Do not wait for disruption to begin building intimacy with God. Do not wait for fear to start learning peace. Do not wait for shaking to discover whether your roots go deep.
Start now with thanksgiving. Start now with praise. Start now with daily seeking. Start now with Scripture. Start now with prayer. Start now with fasting if the Lord leads you.
Start now with obedience. Start now with community. Start now with putting the Kingdom first
God has already extended the invitation. He has already granted access. He has already made room. The call now is simple and weighty: come deeper. If you call to Him, He will answer. If you seek Him first, He will meet you there. If you press into Him, He will carry you through days that would otherwise overwhelm you. And in that place, you will not only survive what is coming. You will shine in it.
Blessings,
Howard Olsen
