Get Out Your Deputy Badge and Use The Word Stones In Your Slingshot Mouth
February 4, 2026 — Good morning. Today I want to speak plainly to you about identity, authority, and the simple faith that changes nations.
The problem we are facing
Too many believers have been taught religion rather than resurrection life. We learned rituals, dependency, and chains that whisper, You are weak. The result? A church that leans on a few gifted people to do the spiritual work while the rest of the body sits passive and afraid.
This is not biblical. The scripture says you were made in God’s image and likeness, given authority, and deputized to reign and rule. Yet many Christians live as if their authority is optional. They pray for a fix, look for a hero, or wait for someone else to do what Jesus said to do.
If you love me, you will do my commands.
Who you really are — identity matters
God made you on purpose. On day six He said, Let us make man in our image. That is not fluff. Identity shapes behavior. When you believe you are a spirit being made in God’s image, you stop living in reaction and start living in dominion.
You were designed to rule over the Earth, not to be ruled by fear, sickness, or shame. Jesus did not come to create a new religion; He came to restore authority to the people He redeemed. When you understand who you are, what you carry inside you changes your atmosphere.
Authority is simpler than you think
Authority is not a secret formula or special word combinations. It’s the reality of what Christ has given you. You were made right by the blood of Jesus. You carry His name and His authority. To exercise it, you must
- Open your mouth — speak the truth with faith.
- Mean it — fear can smell hesitation; demons know when you are not serious.
- Stand your ground — resisting the devil is active; words are the slingshot.
When you say, "In the name of Jesus, I take authority over this," the enemy is forced to run. This is not mystical; it is obedience combined with faith. Scripture is full of ordinary people who became extraordinary when they realized who they were.
Kick the religious shackles
Religion more often than not creates dependency: prayer teams, celebrity ministers, checklists that make the people powerless. That pattern must change.
You were not made to be a perpetual recipient of spiritual rescue; you were made to be a deputy of heaven.
Practical first step: find a small token — a coin, a stone, a small object you can slip into your pocket — and let it be your reminder that you carry a deputy badge from Jesus.
Deputies don't ask the Sheriff for permission. Deputies do what the Sheriff deputized them to do.
Every time you see it, remember your authority and speak.
How to resist and reclaim authority
There is a three-step pattern I teach again and again because it works:
- Repent — renounce the agreements, words, and agreements that gave the enemy legal ground.
- Proclaim — speak in the name of Jesus with conviction: "I take authority over this spirit. Get out!"
- Occupy — walk into the territory God gave you. Reign in your home, your neighbourhood, your workplace.
Remember: many issues begin when we verbally, emotionally, or culturally handed our authority away. You can take it back. It is never permanent unless you accept and make it as permanent.
The Courts of Heaven and prosecuting the enemy
There is a season for repentance and a season for prosecution. When heaven removed the accuser, we were given permission to prosecute the enemy — not in vengeance, but in righteousness. The courtroom imagery is real: sometimes we come to defend against accusations; other times we stand as prosecutors, bringing charges against principalities that have mismanaged nations and stolen identity.
This is a spiritual legal process that mirrors earthly courts. If you have been walking in repentance, you can pursue injunctions that nullify legal grounds the enemy has used. You do not need a single hero to do it for you. You were deputized.
Daily life as a mission field
This is not about occasional mission trips. This is lifestyle. If you see someone limping down the street, speak healing. If you sense fear in your child, bind the spirit of fear and declare peace. The mission is simple: wherever you are, be a Jesus-presence.
Too many believers compartmentalize their faith. The kingdom is not an hour on Sunday; it is the way you move through your day. Let worship and obedience prime the soil so that when a moment comes, you will act with clarity.
When conviction comes, obey
There is a difference between condemnation and conviction. Condemnation shames; conviction compels. If you sense a holy nudge, act. Obedience births breakthrough. You do not need permission from every pastor or leader to obey the Holy Spirit. If it is a conviction, release it in faith.
Practical tips to build faith muscle
- Speak out loud daily. Use short declarations: "In Jesus' name, fear leave." Practice until your voice matches your authority.
- Join a community that equips, not one that quells gifts. If your church discourages obedience and gifts, find a place that releases people to act.
- Learn courtroom worship and spiritual intercession. There are practical trainings that walk you through renouncing agreements and securing legal injunctions in the courts of heaven.
- Pair up and deputize others. Moses listened to Jethro. You cannot do the work alone. Train people to use their voice.
The wider picture — nations will shift
When the body of Christ takes back territory spiritually, it changes systems. The problems we see in governments, economies, and cultures are often the fruit of spiritual agreements. The way forward is not top-down politics alone. It is a people who pray with authority, who act, who clothe the naked emperors with truth instead of merely exposing them to spectacle.
Final encouragement
This is your season to rise. God has clothed many who looked unqualified. He will clothe you. The enemy is a liar and a toothless illusion when you stand in the authority of Christ. Stop rehearsing weakness. Speak. Bind. Break. Walk. And deputize others to join you.
Obedience is better than sacrifice. Faith without works is dead. The words you speak with conviction are the stones in the slingshot of your mouth. Use them.
Blessings, Howard Olsen
