Rebuilding the Walls of Canada - A Call to Action

January 14, 2026

I want you to hear me: today is a day God has made, and He has given us a task. I speak to you as one standing in that calling—asking you to notice what God places before you, to take authority, and to begin rebuilding broken walls in our homes, our communities, and our nation. This is not abstract theology. It is practical kingdom work rooted in the Ezra–Nehemiah pattern: restore the temple, re-ground in the law, then rebuild the walls. That pattern describes where we are now and what I am asking you to do.

The pattern: Ezra restored the law, Nehemiah rebuilt the city

Ezra came first to re-establish worship and the law. Thirteen years later Nehemiah arrives to repair the walls and restore the city’s defenses. Spiritually, that sequence matters. You cannot rebuild a functioning community if people do not know who God is or what He expects of them. Likewise, a restored law without physical repair leaves you exposed to the same problems that caused exile in the first place.

We have been through seasons of teaching, exhortation, and refining. That was Ezra’s work among us. Now Nehemiah’s season is upon us—the time to apply authority, take the plow, and rebuild what has been breached.

Letters of authorization: you are sent and authorized

Nehemiah stood before a king and asked for letters of safe passage, timber, and provision. The king granted them because God’s gracious hand was upon Nehemiah. Hear this plainly: you are called, you are sent, and you have been authorized. Under the new covenant Jesus sealed, the Holy Spirit has placed authority in your mouth. When you speak in obedience, it will be as though God himself is speaking.

The practical upshot: stop shrinking back from the small tasks God puts in front of you because of fear about what others will think. The only assumption you can safely make is that you do not know what someone else is thinking. Ask. Pray a micro prayer. Move. God will provide the letters of authority, the protection, the timber, and the favor as you obey.

Micro prayers and the courage to speak

Nehemiah asked the king a micro prayer in a moment of fear: God, put the words into my mouth. That’s all. Not a long sermon. Not a dramatic display. A quiet lifting to heaven. A small, sincere dependence on God right when it matters.

I want you to practice that. When an opportunity to act comes—call, visit, speak up—lift a quick prayer and move. Too many dreams die in the thinking stage because we try to predict what others will think.

Don’t be an abortionist of the dream or vision God placed in you. Make the call. Say and do the thing. Offer the help.

Examples you can do today

  • Notice someone who looks forlorn and ask, “You okay?”—that small question can spark a converstion and rebuild a wall for them.
  • Make a short phone call to an elected official to oppose unjust legislation. (C9 and Others)
  • Write a polite, clear note of correction or encouragement when you see something out of order in your community.

Everyday kingdom work is spiritual work

Nehemiah did not draw a line between spiritual work and everyday tasks. Whether inspecting a ruined gate at night or taking a donkey through rubble, every act done for God’s glory is spiritual. You do not need a ministry title to be a minister of repair. When your motive is right and your hand is to the plow, God honors it.

I gave examples from ordinary life—comforting a child who had been left in the pool area, insisting on lawful treatment at the post office, walking into a crowded store and asking for grace and favor. These are not insignificant. They are training in boldness and a school for the anointing that will carry you into greater assignments.

Stop assuming. Start speaking.

The greatest obstacle to action is making assumptions about what you think others will think. Assume less. Ask more. Use the Socratic habit of simple questions: “Can you help me with this?” “Will you accept this?” “What would it take?” Once you have clarity, move in obedience.

When Nehemiah told the king the simple truth—Jerusalem is in ruins; let me rebuild it—the king granted him every request. Often the conversation you are avoiding will be MUCH EASIER than THE FEAR YOU COOKED UP IN YOUR HEAD. Your role is to open your mouth in obedience and let God do the rest.

Practical assignment: 12 Days of Freedom calling campaign

We are not merely talking. There is a practical campaign to put our hand to the plow. From January 15 to January 26 we are calling MPs and leaders to oppose Bill C-9 and defend freedoms. The ask is simple: make five phone calls a day. That is about 15 minutes. If a small number of committed people do this consistently, it creates thousands of impactful calls to Parliament.

Why phone calls? MPs report that calls move them more than emails and petitions. When enough citizens speak clearly, entrenched systems sit up and listen. This is how walls begin to be rebuilt: by the voices of the people who will not be silent.

How to begin right now

  1. Pray a micro prayer: “Lord, give me the words and favor for this moment.”
  2. Find the contact: locate your MP or relevant official online.
  3. Make a short, respectful call: identify yourself, state your concern clearly, ask them to oppose harmful legislation.
  4. Do this five times a day for the campaign period. Track the numbers and stay faithful.

Grace will meet your obedience

I do not have seminary credentials for this; I stand here because grace has been given for the task. When God asks you to act, He will give the grace to do it. That favor moves you into better parking spots, calm lines, receptive hearts, and opened doors. That same grace protected Nehemiah; it will protect you as well.

Remember Gideon: God delights in using those who know their smallness and lean on Him. Your voice, used in obedience, is more powerful than any human scheme. When you speak truth under God’s authority, atmospheres change. Even a small noisy band can scatter an army if God is with them.

Final encouragement

There is time to repair the broken walls. You have letters of authorization—divine permission from the King of kings—to act. You do not need everyone’s approval. You need God’s Word on your heart and a willingness to move when He prompts you. Begin with a micro prayer, notice a need, make a call, and do the work God has given you. As you rebuild another person’s wall, you will find your own being rebuilt.

Join us. Make the calls. Stand with boldness. The hand of grace is upon us; let us walk forward in it.
