2026-01-21 I'm speaking to you this morning because the Holy Spirit keeps pressing this into my heart: every word you speak is a seed. If you want a different tomorrow, you must start planting different words today.
The simple, relentless principle
From the beginning God spoke and things came into being. That pattern didn't stop with creation—it's written into the way the universe operates. Genesis gives us the original law: seed, time, and harvest. Plant a seed and, in season, a harvest follows. The only question is what seeds are you planting with your speech?
Every word you speak carries genetic power
Listen, you are the prophet of your own life. That doesn't mean you need an office or title. It means your words announce the future you will walk into. When you speak about your past wounds, your lack, your pain, you are re-planting those seeds into the soil of your present atmosphere. They die, they produce fruit, and that fruit reproduces after its own kind.
Life and death are in the power of the tongue. That is not poetry—it's spiritual arithmetic. The tongue plants seeds that bring forth life or bring forth death. Choose carefully. Speak what you want, not what you’re trying to escape.
Waiting is not passive
Many of you misunderstand waiting. Waiting is not sitting idly counting minutes, hoping the bus shows up on time. Waiting is active. The waiter at a restaurant doesn’t just stare at the floor. They serve. Waiting in faith is working with the seed you planted. You keep speaking, you keep moving, you keep believing even when the visible evidence is not yet in front of you.
How the Spirit helps when words run out
There are times when we don't know what to pray. The Spirit intercedes with groanings that have no words. Those moments are powerful because God uses them to align what you cannot yet shape in language. Learn to yield your mind, let the Spirit speak through you—even in tongues if the Spirit leads—and then you will have the proper seed to plant in prayer and confession.
Three practical steps to start planting better seeds today
-
Stop re-telling the wound. If you keep naming the betrayal, the failure, the sickness—you are creating a fresh seed that will bear fruit of the same kind. It's not God Holding out on you. it's you replanting an old field. Quit rehearsing yesterday.
- Declare what Christ purchased for you. Speak: "I am redeemed. I am healed by His stripes. I walk in wholeness." Whether you see it in the present or not. Those confessions are seeds that grow into new realities.
- Act in faith. Faith without works is a seed that never dies to produce harvest. Speak and then do the next step God has given you—pray, forgive, reconcile, seek treatment, serve your family. Faith moves.
Forgiveness—stop replanting the past
One of the biggest reasons people stay stuck is they keep talking about what was done to them. Forgiveness is not optional if you want a different future. When you genuinely forgive, you stop adding fresh seeds of the past into today's soil. That releases new fruit: peace, restoration, and freedom.
Confession shapes destiny
Confession is not a manipulative chant. It is prophetic speech that aligns you with God's promises. When you declare the promises of Christ—repentance, righteousness, healing—you are planting seeds that the Spirit will water. Speak your future. Call things that are not as though they were. In time, they will be.
Testimony: a marriage transformed
I know a man who began speaking life over his marriage instead of rehearsing pain. He stopped recounting the failures and instead thanked God for the healing and restoration he believed was coming. He committed to love, spoke covenantal words, and acted on them. Over time the marriage changed. That does not deny difficulty; it recognizes the law at work. Seed, time, harvest—patiently, actively, faithfully.
When the harvest seems delayed
Timing belongs to God, but the law still operates. Sometimes seeds take years to germinate. Don't become bitter or skeptical. Keep sowing the words of life. Don't cancel God's blessing with your confessions of lack. You will not reap what you sow if your mouth keeps undoing it.
Short, daily practices to re-train your tongue
- Begin each morning with a sentence: "I am the redeemed of Christ. I am healed." Say it out loud until you feel it.
- When a painful memory surfaces, immediately replace it with a confession of God's truth for you.
- Use a spiritual journal: write the promises you believe and declare them daily.
One final word
I love you enough to speak plainly. God loves you more than you can imagine. He is calling you out of old cycles. Your mouth is the battlefield, and your words are the seeds. Choose life. Plant words of healing, restoration, hope, and blessing. Keep speaking them. Move in faith. Watch God do what only He can do.
Act now
Today, stop rehearsing yesterday. Start planting what you want to harvest. Speak life over your body, over your family, over your nation. The tomorrow you will step into approaches quickly with every word you speak today.
