There comes a point in the life of faith where God starts pulling you out of the safe, tidy, manageable places and into something far less predictable. That place often feels uncomfortable at first. But if you stay there long enough, something shifts. You get so used to leaning into the groan, leaning into the stretch, leaning into the unknown, that the only thing that starts to feel strange is comfort itself.
That is where many of us are right now. We have been leaning into the uncomfortable for so long that we are beginning to understand something vital.
Authority grows where dependence on God grows. And dependence on God grows fastest when you can no longer fake control.
Getting Comfortable With the Uncomfortable
There is a spiritual maturity that only comes when you stop resisting the groan. Not complaining. Not panic. Groan. That deep inward pressure where your spirit knows something is shifting even before your mind can explain it.
If you are going to move with God in this hour, you cannot keep demanding that everything feel familiar. You must get comfortable with the uncomfortable and make that your new habitation.
This is not about becoming reckless. It is about becoming yielded. It is about learning to say, “Lord, if You are leading me here, then I will stop treating discomfort like danger.”
Job, Thunder, and the Voice of God
One of the clearest biblical pictures of God’s majesty and authority over creation is found in Job. The language is stunning. God commands the rain. He directs the snow. He stores up hail. He speaks through thunder. He spreads lightning across the sky and nourishes people through the very systems of creation we think we understand.
And that is the point. We think we understand evaporation, clouds, weather systems, seasons. We can describe them. We can diagram them. But explanation is not the same as mastery.
Job forces us back into awe.
Scripture says God’s voice is glorious in thunder. He does not restrain it when He speaks. That should stop us for a minute. If we are made in His image and likeness, why are we so hesitant, timid, and restrained when He tells us to speak?
Not arrogant. Not theatrical. But obedient.
There is a kind of speaking that heaven backs because it is aligned with God’s will. That is not hype. That is kingdom order.
Authority Is Real, but It Must Be Used Wisely
One of the strongest themes here is this: God has given His people authority. Not pretend authority. Not symbolic authority. Real authority. Authority to decree, to pray, to confront darkness, and at times even to speak to the elements when led by the Spirit.
That sounds extreme to some people until they remember the Bible.
- Jesus spoke to storms
- Moses stretched out his hand and winds obeyed
- Joshua commanded the day
- Elijah declared drought and rain
The issue is not whether God can do these things. The issue is whether His people are willing to believe what He said about who they are in Him.
But this authority is not for showing off. These are not party tricks. This is not spiritual entertainment. It must be used with wisdom, discernment, righteousness, and restraint.
The counterfeit does things for spectacle. The kingdom does things for purpose.
When God Speaks Through the Weather
Sometimes the Lord teaches through Scripture. Sometimes He teaches through circumstances. Sometimes He speaks through creation itself.
This morning rain fell in a strikingly narrow way. It fell on a few garbage bins and a strip along one side of our house, while surrounding areas remained completely dry. Not the driveway. Not the neighboring properties. Just a distinct patch.
And the sense of it was clear: I have you in Goshen and I'm bringing refreshing rain.
That matters. In Scripture, Goshen was the place of protection in the middle of judgment. It was the place where God distinguished His people while trouble moved through the land. The message was not merely personal comfort. It was prophetic reassurance. God knows how to preserve His own.
There are times when the east wind blows and brings judgment, exposure, and disruption. There are times when the west wind blows and brings restoration. There is a time for war and a time for peace. Wisdom is knowing which wind the Lord is calling forth in a given season.
Childlike Wonder Opens the Door to Revelation
Long before there was any church background or theological framework, there was a child sitting in a driveway flying a kite on a fishing pole, staring at a cloud and marveling at God.
The thought was simple and pure: God takes water up from the lake, cleans it in the sky, and pours it back down fresh again. That childlike awe matters more than many people realize.
We do not outgrow wonder. We drift from it. And when we drift from wonder, we often drift from faith.
Sometimes the way back into authority is not through more sophistication. It is through humility. Through standing before God again and saying, “I thought I understood. I do not understand nearly as much as I imagined. But I trust You.”
Calling Forth Rain and Speaking to the Land
There were multiple testimonies of praying into drought conditions and seeing rain come. In one case, in Mexico City during an extreme water crisis, a declaration was made that rain would come on Saturday. By Saturday morning, the skies opened and the drought broke.
In another instance, prayer was made over ranch land suffering from lack of rain, with concern for cattle and crops. The land itself was addressed. The earth was commanded to serve the purposes of God and bring forth abundance. Rain followed.
These stories are not presented as personal greatness. They are presented as proof that obedience matters and that God still responds when His people act in faith.
There is also an important caution here. You cannot judge obedience by immediate visible results.
Some decrees manifest quickly. Others take months or years. Seedtime and harvest still govern the kingdom. We live in an instant-results culture, but God is not rushed by our habits. He is Lord of times and seasons.
Command Your Day, Your Week, and the Affairs of Your Nation
One of the most arresting questions in Job is this: Have you ever commanded the morning to appear and caused the dawn to rise?
That question lands like an invitation.
Have you ever commanded your day? Your week? The spiritual atmosphere over your home? The direction of your prayers over your nation?
Too many believers have been passive with a gospel that was never meant to produce passivity. We have mouths, and those mouths matter. We are not the source of power, but we are often the authorized point of release.
This is why prayer and decree are so central. Not because words are magical, but because God has chosen to work through yielded sons and daughters who agree with Him.
The East Wind and National Upheaval
Another major burden is the call to pray over nations, governments, and systems corrupted by bribery, deceit, compromise, and unrighteous power.
The imagery is forceful: call forth the east wind through parliaments, senates, courts, and halls of power. Let it expose. Let it shake. Let it bring down what must fall.
And then, when the time is right, call forth restoration.
This is not bitterness dressed up as spirituality. It is a cry for righteous governance. A cry for leaders who fear God, hate bribes, love truth, and serve with justice. A cry for the light to disturb the wicked and stop the arm raised in violence.
The prayer is not merely against corruption. It is for reformation.
This Is About a Remnant, Not a Performance
The heart behind all of this is not self-promotion. It is activation.
If God allows someone to experience unusual things, often it is not so they can be admired. It is so they can model what is possible and call others higher. God is looking for a remnant willing to step into places others dismiss as too strange, too risky, or too uncomfortable.
That first step into new obedience can feel awkward. You may wonder whether anything is happening at all. But faithfulness is not measured by how dramatic the first result looks. Faithfulness is measured by whether you obeyed what He said.
Some seeds break the ground quickly. Others take time underground. That delay is not failure. Often, it is divine timing.
I Know Who I Am Because the I AM Tells Me Who I Am
Everything comes back to identity.
You will never operate in kingdom authority if you are still negotiating who you are. You are not who culture says you are. Not who politics says you are. Not who fear says you are.
You are who the I AM says you are.
That identity is not self-invented. It is received. It is anchored in Christ. And once that truth gets down into the spirit, faith starts to rise in a new way.
That is where boldness comes from. Not personality. Revelation.
There is something being birthed in the people of God right now. A deeper understanding of authority. A deeper willingness to pray. A deeper confidence that God means what He says. Not everyone will lean into it. But those who do will not remain the same.
A Final Word for This Hour
Yes, darkness is being exposed. Yes, systems are shaking. Yes, winds of change are blowing. But the call is not to fear. The call is to stand, decree, discern, and obey.
God is still reforming. Still restoring. Still shaking what can be shaken so that what is unshakable remains.
So open your mouth. Command your day. Speak life over your household. Pray over your land. Ask for wisdom before you act. Stay humble. Stay yielded. Stay brave enough to be uncomfortable.
And remember this: the power is His, the glory is His, the timing is His. But He has chosen to work through His people.
